It's in the first m.2 slot, which should support an NVME drive. The 500gb Crucial SDD is not showing up in the bios or as an option to install Windows onto. I currently have a Samsung 960 EVO M.2 drive that works fine. I managed to solve the problem, it seems that indeed I had to install the IRST (intel rapid storage driver), I assumed that when I selected the parent folder after pressing the load driver button that it searches for the driver recurrsiverly but I was wrong. I have an ASRock B450M Steel Legend motherboard with a ryAF CPU. I do install it once every 6 months or so to check for firmware updates. I have the same drive in a machine, and it runs great without it.
